Paul Fahey Takes Helm at 9-1-1 Industry Alliance (9IA)
Government & industry professional leads emergency communications trade association
(Washington, D.C.) July 15, 2009 — Kevin Murray, Chair of the Board of Directors of the 9-1-1 Industry Alliance (9IA), has announced that Paul Fahey will be the new Executive Director of the 9IA today. Fahey succeeds Jeff Robertson, former President and Chief Executive Officer of Tel Control, Inc., who has completed his term leading 9IA for the past two years.
"We are pleased to welcome Paul to this new role," stated Murray, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mission Critical Partners. "Paul has been an integral member of our leadership team as Treasurer of the Board for the past two years. We are looking to him to build on the solid foundation Jeff Robertson is leaving as he works to strengthen and grow 9IA."
Fahey is leaving his position as Director of External Affairs for PlantCML, an EADS North America Company, to lead 9IA. He is also the former Director of the Massachusetts State 9-1-1 Department, with over twenty-five years in government and industry.
"Paul's strong experience in emergency communications and his extensive background in government make him a strong leader for the 9IA at this critical time," noted Reid French, Vice Chair of the 9IA Board of Directors and Chief Operating Officer for Intergraph Corporation.
"9IA will continue to advocate for adequate funding for 9-1-1 and other emergency communications technologies," said George Heinrichs, former 9IA Board Chair and President of Intrado Communications, Inc. "Paul will work with the 9IA Board and its member companies to ensure that the U.S. will remain well served by its emergency communications system."

9IA was established in December 2005 by a group of prominent industry leaders. The vision of the organization's founders is that 9IA will play an important role as the voice of industry companies on major public policy issues, and that the expertise of industry leaders can assist public policymakers and government emergency communications professionals as complex choices are made regarding advanced 9-1-1 alternatives in the years ahead.
